The Flying Amigo

Luke has always been scared of being thrown in the air and used to scream in fear every time Ryan would try to toss him in the air. Luke has a cousin, Parker, who is 4 months older than he is, and she loves to play these flying games with her daddy, Uncle Andy. Parker gets tossed in the air at death-defying speeds (no lie) by Andy, and she always burst into laughter each time he does it. Unfortunately Parker lives in Houston, so we don't get to see her on a regular basis, but over the past 2 months Luke has been able to see her several times, and I think after watching how much fun Parker & her daddy have playing these flying games, Luke has gained some confidence and decided it would be ok for Ryan try out this game with him.
So, the other night Ryan not only gently tosses Luke up in the air & catches him, but throws Luke across the room where he lands on the couch, which is covered in blankets & pillows for a softer landing. Each time Ryan tosses Luke in the air he shouts, "The Flying Amigo", so that is what I named this new game they play...don't ask me where the name came from 'cause I have no idea! Luke loves the new game and so I guess he's gotten over his fear of flying :)

The launching pad

He's flying so high, you can only see his legs

The Flying Amigo

The soft & gentle landing

This is the only action shot I have of Parker & Uncle Andy's flying game,
this is really tame for what you see in person!

Luke definitely looks like a happy little flyer!
...so I just realized that you guys don't even live here anymore. It takes me a while to catch on. I'm even more excited that you have a blog now so that I can check in with you guys.
Hope you're feeling well.

That's great! You need to ask Greg to show you how he tosses his kids. It's certainly heart-attack-creating to watch. He grabs them by the ankles, hangs them upside down, and then flips them high, high, high so that they do about 56 rotations before he catches them.

Craziness.

Ali likes flying too, but you can tell how high-C and careful Chris is by how he throws her. Meaning, he never actually lets go :) But she doesn't seem to notice the difference between not being let go of and being let go of.

So, speaking of stalkers (I glanced down through your first few posts) I guess I could be considered one! LOL! Anyway, my name is Candace and I went to high school with Ryan. (though I know him as Rice!) :) Anyway, I had to say hi when I found this blog! I clicked to it through a link on Tonya's blog, another friend from high school. Anyway, I have often wondered what happened to Rice (Ryan) and am so excited to see pictures of your beautiful family! Mrs. Sparks was also one of my favorite teachers of all time!! :) Anyway, tell Ryan I said hi and God bless your precious family!!

Candace (Rosser) Crabtree (blogging is a lot of fun, isn't it? I'm also a stay-at-home mom and blogging has become a hobby for me!) :)
